September 22nd 2022: Workshop on "AI FOR LIFE - How artificial intelligence can support human, animal and environmental health".

The Greifswald University Club is hosting a workshop on Artificial Intelligence on September 22. Among other speakers, Mario Trouillier from the DIG-IT! team will give a talk on "Tree and forest growth models based on machine learning approaches". There will be presentations in English and German. Advance registration is requested until September 17th. The workshop will take place at the Campus Löfflerstraße in Greifswald. August 23rd and 24th, 2022: Final DIG-IT! closing event with the projects Digi-Care, E-BRAiN and NEISS

At a joint closing event of the 3rd competition call of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Excellence Initiative, DIG-IT! will present itself to the Minister of Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs Bettina Martin, representatives of the LAGuS, the PTJ and the members of the other research networks.
On a total of two days, the 4 research networks Digi-Care, DIG-IT!, E-BRAiN and NEISS will give insight into their projects and present their results. The event will take place at the campus of the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences of the University of Rostock at Justus-von-Liebig-Weg 6.

December 3rd 2021: DIG-IT! ethics seminar "Let's talk about A.I. - Ethics, Hype and Consequences"

Artificial intelligence or A.I. is ubiquitous in modern everyday life. At the 1st DIG-IT! ethics seminar, guest speakers from the fields of philosophy and communication science will present their perspectives on the meaning of the term A.I., how it affects our lives and who may be accountable when using such algorithms goes wrong.

November 18th 2021: DIG-IT! represented at the Science Camp Rostock

The DIG-IT! consortium will present its research at the research camp of the University of Rostock. The event has the motto "Senses" and thus, the processing of visual environmental data using self-learning algorithms ("Deep Convolutional Neural Networks") of the Dig-IT! project is closely related to this year's topic.

November 12th 2021: Second status seminar in Greifswald

At the second status seminar, the researchers give an overview of the status of their research, what has already been achieved and an outlook on the next steps within the DIG-IT! project. The PhD students will present their research content and highlight synergies and perspectives to representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the ProjektträgerJülich and representatives of the State Office for Health and Social Affairs of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

September 19-20th 2020: DIG-IT! At the M-V-day

The DIG-IT!  team plans to participate in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern-Day, which will take place in Greifswald this year.

During the first status seminar ‘From idea to concept: Image based ecology’ the students will present their current work and share what has already been achieved within their projects.

September 18th 2019: Kick-off Meeting of the DIG-IT! Project

For the start of DIG-IT!, the project was introduced to representatives of the Ministry for Education, Science and Culture, the Jülich Research Centre and the State Office for Health and Social Issues, and the aims and perspectives were explained.
